MAKIN104 – Mista Nugget ft. Louise Golbey “My Sweetness”

Mista Nugget aka Neil Elleston was introduced to us by a mutual friend and after a deep conversation about house music he mentioned he had produced a track with Louise Golbey on vocals. We had always been a fan of Louises work and on a first listen we were hooked! Think great song, hypnotic bass line and you’ve got yourself a killer cut!

Louise Golbey has been releasing quality soul tracks for many years and her music has been supported by various DJs on BBC radio stations Radio 1, 1Xtra, 6Music and BBC London and she is a firm favourite on Jazz FM, Mi-Soul and Capital Xtra and she has appeared on London Live TV channel for performances and interviews.

She works with a wealth of different producers including Mercury Music Prize nominee Drew Horley (De La Soul, Estelle, Roots Manuva, TY & Natalie Williams) and features on Nick Does soulful house version of He Loves, a Jill Scott cover which is out on the Restless Soul label and reached No.1 in the Soulful House Charts.

Her first full album Novel is out now and includes a track with UK Soul legend Omar, one with Mo Pleasure (MJ, Earth Wind & Fire) and a track produced by Aamir Yaqub who won a Grammy for his work on the latest Rihanna album at Metropolis Studios.)

MAKIN103 – Lolita Santiago featuring Aisling Iris “Like Summer”

Makin’ Moves back with another release which is perfect timing for the summer night settings in London. This song entitled ‘ Like Summer’ which has been written by Aisling Iris, her lyrics and voice have been described as possessing an almost conversational intimacy, with a smooth contralto that she deftly wraps around the melodies, swooping up every so often to a lilting jazzy falsetto.

Back once again on Makin’ Moves Records after a succession of hits, Aisling teams up with Lolita Santiago to bring you this smooth soulful jazzy groove as always with meaningful lyrics and sure we can all relate to! Enjoy!

Makin’ Moves @ LP in The Curtain Saturday 23rd November

Makin Moves return to LP the awesome club situated inside The Curtain Hotel in Shoreditch on Saturday 23rd November. The partnership with The Curtain Hotel has been really positive this year and allowed us to seek a new audience while delivering an even more quality experience to our growing following. Now into their 7th year, Makin’ Moves parties have become synonymous with dancers and soulful and deep house lovers across the UK.

For their fourth party of the year residents Matt L-S and Jamesey will be joined by Italian dj and production duo Souldynamic. If you haven’t witnessed a set of theirs before these guys are simply electric and bring so much energy with them! The duo are an awesome production collective constantly remixing and producing for top labels aswell as their own imprint Excedo Records. Their recent “Dishwater Blues Vol.1 release on BBE Records with Luis Radio and Margaret Grace is presently riding high in the Traxsource charts. Together they have played in clubs across the globe and celebrated their 12th anniversary of playing together this year. If you were out and about this summer you might have caught them at some of the best summer festivals in Europe including Southport Weekender and Suncebeat. We look forward to welcoming them to Makin Moves on Sat 23rd November.

Makin’ Moves celebrate their 7th anniversary at LP inside the wonderful Curtain Hotel in Shoreditch on Friday 13th September.

Matt L-S and Jamesey have been at the forefront of the soulful house scene in london continually driving it forward and keeping things fresh. This year they’ve hosted two parties at LP and it’s now become the home for the brand with it’s amazing sound system and interior.

Both guys will be playing on the night alongside our guest Jihad Muhammad who will be exclusively flying in for this event! Jihad hails from New Jersey and is on one of the best DJs on the planet, his sets are electric and mixing skills are second to none. He’s been in the music industry for over 40 years, brought up listening to great djs in NYC such as Timmy Regisford, Louie Vega. He has his own legendary Bang The Drum event which he runs every month in New Jersey and also runs his own successful label, Movement Soul.

His set last year at Omeara was sensational so don’t miss this opportunity to see him for free in one of London’s best kept secert clubs!
